As a builder i have walked through virtually every property you have highlighted here, all the grant schemes, all the high money earners inside listed building do nothing to preserve our heritage, neither does local councils, they have certain properties that get cash, thats it end of story, i have a listed building and on the rare occaision they drop in ,first thing they did was hand over a envelope looking for a donation, they get there salaries irrespective of our heritage being destroyed, i complained around 1 year ago about a large property just outside dumbarton, the council gave it away for a pittance to some yank who had declared he was a minister, and if i was told the truth several millions were handed or passed to him for work on the house, strangely enough, as a buoder when i look at the roof of this a listed property i see slate which is as it should be , ????
